The constellation Sagittarius is usually pictured as a centaur, an archer. This centaur is identified in Greek myth with Chiron. In the Mesopotamian tradition this constellation is called Pabilsag, a warrior god, a two-headed archer. In the Persian Mihr tradition the ninth sign is read as the helper of the sun.
